Acting Punjab Governor Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that Pakistan is a safe country and arrival of foreign players and teams here for events like Kabaddi World Cup and Pakistan Super League (PSL) has proved this.
Addressing a luncheon reception in honour of Pak Media Cricket Team-Britain at Governor's House in Lahore on Friday, Parvez said now all matches of the PSL are being played in different cities across Pakistan. Wajahat Ali Khan, Atta-ul-Haq, Tahir Ali, Babar Ali Rana and others attended the event.
Referring to violence against Muslims in India sponsored by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu militant group, and the Narendra Modi-led BJP government, Parvez said that Modi alone has done more damage to the mankind than wars of the past. He said the international community should come forward to stop Modi’s oppression and take effective measures to save Muslims from genocide in India. Expressing concern at the situation, he said the Indian government and police were united in intensifying the oppression of minorities in their country.
Welcoming the peace accord between the United States and the Taliban, Parvez said that Pakistan’s role in this accord has been duly acknowledged. He said that Pakistan has always supported the peace process in Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan is a peaceful country and it has always played its role for peace.
