English football club Arsenal’s midfielder Thomas Partey was replaced at half-time against Manchester City in the Emirates’ Football Association Cup quarters after an injury and he will be having an MRI scan this weekend.
Partey, after injury, was replaced by Albert Sambi Lokonga at half-time in the Friday night's match. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta confirmed that Thomas, a very influential part of their season, was suffering from "some discomfort".
Arteta stated that the Ghanaian Partey had some discomfort which got worse and worse. "He was very uncomfortable to continue. And on Saturday or the day after he will have an MRI scan and see what he has.
Quoting the injury of another a defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny, he said "We have at the moment the injury of Elneny and it is not possible to get him fit. Albert Sambi has come in as a substitute and has done well.”
Mikel Arteta, lamenting on Partey’s injury said "It is true Thomas is a big influence and a big personality and in the second half we didn't have him."
