The timely action of the intelligence agencies has saved country from a major disaster as the security forces have busted a major suicide terror network, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The security personnel seized Afghan mobile Sims, drugs and currency from the possession of the terrorists, who belonged to outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The members of the terror network were responsible for January 19 attack on Takhta Baig checkpost in Jamrud in which three policemen were martyred. The suicide bomber blew himself up after the gun attack.
The TTP had claimed responsibility for the terror attack on the checkpost.
The security personnel had collected evidence from the attack site which included bullet shells and body parts for forensic analysis. They also went through CCTV footage and geo-fencing.
According to the information they gathered by January 21, a TTP operative who goes by the name of Umar, was the mastermind of the suicide attack. Jamrud resident Satana Jan facilitated Umar.
In an operation carried out January 23, Farmanullah and Abdul Qayyum who were linked to the suicide bomber were arrested in an intelligence-based operation.
TTP had admitted that Satana Khan was killed in the operation.
Another operation was launched on January 27 after receiving tip-off about presence of three terror suspects in the area. During the action, facilitator Fazal Amin, Fazal Ahmad, Muhammad Amir and Hamadullah were taken into custody. Two Afghan nationals were also arrested during the operation.
During interrogation, facilitator Fazal Ahmad revealed that the suicide bomber was an Afghan national who were brought to Pakistan by Satana Khan.
Satana Khan, who was running TTP in North Waziristan, also gave him weapons and suicide vest.
Fazal Ahmad had visited the area and took pictures with his mobile phone.
Satana Khan had been using four houses for hiding and also used these houses for planning suicide attacks.
