Rain and snowfall expected across Pakistan on Sunday

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast for Sunday, predicting rain and snowfall in various parts of the country, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Saturday.


According to the PMD, Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to remain cloudy with the possibility of rain.


The weather will be cold and partly cloudy in most of the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, while it will remain very cold in the upper districts. Rain and snowfall are likely in the mountainous regions of these provinces.


Balochistan will experience cold weather, with light rain in coastal areas and snowfall on the mountains. Sindh will remain cold and dry, with fog/smog in some districts.


Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also have very cold and partly cloudy weather, with rain and snowfall at few places.


In Punjab, There is a chance of light to moderate rain in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal and surrounding areas. In Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal, Multan, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas the weather to remain partly cloudy with a possibility of light rain at some places, while light to medium fog is likely to prevail in southern districts.


In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there is chance of rain in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Kirk, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Buner, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu and DI Khan and snowfall in mountains.


In Balochistan, there is a possibility of light rain in the coastal areas of Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, Barkhan and Makran and snowfall on the mountains.


The PMD has advised the public to take precautionary measures as the weather may affect traffic and visibility in some areas. Tourists are also advised to remain cautious due to snowfall in upper regions of the country.
