Sugar price rises Rs5 per kg across country

Utility Stores Corporation (USC) increased price of sugar across country with immediate effect after reports surfaced that sugar being sold in the open market in Rs145 instead of Rs140 per kilogram with increase of Rs5 per kilogram, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported.
Utility Stores Corporation officials said that the sugar still being sold on less price as compared with the price of sugar in the open market.
It is necessary to mention here that the federal cabinet formed a special committee to halt operations of Utility Stores Corporation and Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain was nominated as head of the committee.
The federal cabinet directed the committee to submit its final recommendations to the concerned officials in this regard.
