Five-star Umrah in Ramazan has become more expensive than the official Hajj package after increase in airline tickets and hotel fares, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Five-star, four-star, three-star and economy class Umrah packages would cost more now.

Advance booking of airline tickets has started from 162,000 rupees from 1st Ramazan.

Airblue's round-trip fare from Lahore to Jeddah has become Rs162,000 from 1st Ramazan while PIA's round-trip ticket from Lahore to Jeddah has reached Rs187,000 and Saudi Airlines' economy class ticket has become Rs266,000.

Hotels in Makkah and Madinah have increased their rates from 1st Ramazan to Eidul Fitr.

In the first ten days, the minimum economy class fare of a hotel has soared to 350 riyals.

In the last ten days, the minimum rent for an economy-class hotel room per night has reached 600 riyals.

Two months ago, the rent for an economy-class hotel room was hovering around 150 riyals.

The minimum rent for a day at a five-star hotel in Makkah and Madinah with Sehri has reached 2,500 riyals.

The rent for a day at a five-star hotel with Iftar has reached 3,000 riyals.

By the 20th of Ramazan, the rent for a day at a five-star hotel in Madinah has reached 2,500 to 3,000 riyals.

The minimum rent for a day at a four-star hotel has also reached 1,500 to 2,000 riyals.

The shuttle bus and three-star Umrah package have increased by more than Rs400,000.
