PML-N Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb has criticised the government for “an unbearable increase” in the prices of daily use items ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
In a statement issued on Monday, Marriyum said the “selected prime minister” has given people Eidi in the form of skyrocketing inflation.
She said those, whose houses are run by those who looted the nation through hoarding, artificial shortages and profiteering, cannot understand the plight of those who work hard all day to earn a livelihood and still find it difficult to feed their families because of this government’s policies.
She said the cost of electricity, gas, petrol, sugar, wheat, flour, lentils, cooking oil and even spices have gone up irrationally. Vegetables, fruit, meat, education and healthcare have been pushed beyond the buying power of the average Pakistani, she said.
The former information minister said that Imran Khan's lip service won't fill the empty stomach of starving poor nor will it give an honourable livelihood to daily wage earners and labourers. She said “the Imran-led mafia government” dropped the petrol bomb on people before Eid-ul-Fitr and snatched their happiness. Now it has dropped the inflation bomb on people before Eid-ul-Azha.
