PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that continuation of the current rule could be a threat to the country.
Speaking to the media along with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Shehbaz said the “selected” government could not improve the prevailing situation in the country. Shehbaz, who is also Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, said the incumbent government had no answer to the question of price hike. He said that hundreds of thousands of people were rendered jobless due to the policies of the incumbent government. He said his party was not running from accountability, but it was against the idea of using accountability for victimisation. He said nobody was begging relief from the government.
Speaking to the media later, Bilawal said the government was playing a game on the issue of Financial Action Task Force (FATF). “Why Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who tried to become a hero on the issue of Raymond Davis, is now silent on the issue of Kulbhushan Jadhav?” he asked. He said all options were on the table, including midterm elections and in-house change. He said this was the first government under which sugar, flour and petrol were stolen. He said the Imran Khan government has become a threat to people of Pakistan. He said that all political parties are on one page on removal of “the selected”, a reference to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
