Two police officers were martyred during an attack on a police checkpoint by bandits in Dehrki, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the police, the attack occurred at Police Checkpoint 47, located on the protective embankment of Aandal Sundrani in Dehrki.
SSP Sameer Noor told the media that the bandits launched a surprise attack on the checkpoint, resulting in the martyrdom of Constable Zaheer Theem and Abdul Qadir Mahar.
The SSP Dehrki said the police responded swiftly and during the ensuing exchange of fire some bandits were reportedly injured.
SSP Sameer confirmed that a large police force has been deployed to the area and a manhunt is underway to apprehend the culprits.
