Pakistani rupee delivers fresh blow to US dollar

The Pakistani rupee started Tuesday positively by delivering a heavy blow to the US dollar and kept the momentum until the trade was ended, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As the trading began, the American currency lost Rs1.19 quickly although it traded in positive range a day earlier. The greenback then recovered some of its value but as the market closed for the day the US dollar was trading at Rs206.87, down by Rs1.07.

On Monday, the US dollar had closed at Rs207.94, with an appreciation of 48 paisas. Earlier, the Pakistani rupee had pummelled the US dollar, for it was traded at Rs206.50 in the interbank with the appreciation of 73 paisas against the greenback.

While on Friday, the Pakistani currency was in a fluid mode as it had lost 25 paisas to the US dollar after reaping a healthy gain of Rs4.70 on the back of good economic vibes.

In the trading activity on Friday, the dollar seemed to regain its strength and appreciated by Rs1.27 and was once traded at Rs208.50. But in the end, the greenback appreciated only 25 paisas, concluding the day at Rs207.48.
