An alleged ‘dacoit’ was arrested in an injured condition while his two accomplices managed to flee after an ‘exchange of fire’ between the police and ‘dacoits’ in Bin Qasim area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Police said that the bullets fired by dacoits pierced into the police van. But luckily the cops sitting inside remained safe.
The Force further claimed that unlicensed weapons were recovered from the injured dacoit, identified as Khalid s/o Khadim, who was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Police said that Khalid’s past record was being searched while raids were being conducted to arrest his accomplices.
In a similar incident in the jurisdiction of Iqbal Market police station in Orangi Town, three suspects were arrested in an injured condition following an ‘encounter’ with police while two pistols and a stolen motorbike were also recovered from them, police claimed.
According to reports, one of the suspects was injured after he was hit by a bullet while the two others were injured when they were beaten up by ordinary people.
They were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
In yet another police ‘encounter’ in the city, this time in Bhains Colony, four ‘outlaws’ were held in an injured condition while weapons, motorcycles and cash were also recovered from their possession.
Police said the injured dacoits were taken to Jinnah Hospital, while their past record was being scanned to find out their involvement in other criminal activities.
