Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib took to Twitter to make this announcement.
He tweeted: "Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi met Prime Minister Imran Khan. All issues were settled in the meeting. PML-Q expresses confidence in PM and announces support. Chief Minister Usman Bazdar tenders his resignation to PM.
He added: "Prime Minister Imran Khan nominated Chaudhry Pervez Elahi as the CM. All issues were settled in the meeting. PML-Q expresses confidence in PM and announces support. Earlier in the day, a lawmaker of the opposition party – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz – told the media that more than 120 MPAs signed the no-confidence motion submitted to the provincial assembly against Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar. PML-N’s Rana Mashhood said the motion has been submitted after all the matters were settled.

The motion was submitted out of fear of the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly, PML-N MPA said his party wanted that the assembly was dissolved and elections were held early so that it could return to the assembly with a thumping majority.
