Renowned Pakistani comedian Hassan Abbas was honoured with the Aitraf-e-Fun Award in New York on the occasion of Pakistan Day, recognizing his decades-long contributions to the entertainment industry.
With a career spanning 40 years, Hassan Abbas has been a prominent figure in music, comedy, stage, television, film, and the entertainment industry.
His name is regarded among the top stand-up comedians of the Indian subcontinent. Beyond comedy, he has honed his craft under the guidance of legendary musicians and performers, including Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Ghulam Abbas, Ustad Ghulam Ali, Ustad Mehr Ali, and Ustad Sher Ali Qawwal.
He also spent time with legendary comedians Amanullah Khan (late) and Sohail Ahmed, mastering the fusion of classical music, musical comedy, parody, impressionistic acting, and voice acting.
Over the past 30 years, Hassan Abbas has captivated audiences across the Indian subcontinent, Middle East, Far East, Europe, and the United States, where he has performed extensively.
Known as the “artist of artists”, he not only entertains the public but also fellow performers, often adding charm to private artistic gatherings.
This marks the second time Hassan Abbas has been recognized in New York. In 2014, he was previously honored with the title of “Mr. Comedy” in the United States. Additionally, he has received multiple awards from Pakistani stage theater for his contributions to comedy and performance arts.
