Making it clear that there could be no improvement in the situation without the announcement of date for general elections in the country, former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that the party would march on Islamabad next time after complete preparedness, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference after the party’s core committee meeting in Peshawar, he said the PTI had never done the politics of confrontation. “We had an option to form militant wings when we were confronted with the party like MQM-P in Karachi. But we did not,” he said, and added that even the fire that had engulfed trees and greenbelts in Islamabad during the long march was lit by the police and the PML-N workers.
Former prime minister regretted that police used teargas shells against the people who were completely innocent. “We have decided to raise this issue not only in the Supreme Court (SC) but also at all world forums,” he informed.
“The party will file a petition in the SC day after tomorrow (Monday, May 30, 2022),” he said, and informed that cases would also be registered against the CCPO Lahore, DIG Operations and IGP, Islamabad for using violence against unarmed PTI workers.
“We will not forgive them. We will upload pictures of these officers on social media so that the people could recognize them,” he vowed.
Imran said now the people had realized why these people (coalition parties) had come to power. “Their only objective was to get a clean chit in corruption cases filed against them and to introduce ‘controversial’ electoral reforms,” he said.
PTI chairman alleged that the petroleum products’ prices were increased on the orders of the USA. “How unfortunate that this government of ‘thugs’ has not bought oil from Russia at cheaper rates,” he regretted.
Former prime minister reminded that his government’s ouster was the consequence of a foreign conspiracy. “No power in the world has the right to bring any party to power, except the people of Pakistan,” he stated categorically.
Imran said now he had started believing what slain prime minister Benazir Bhutto would say that there were two sets of laws: one for the PPP and the other for the PML-N.
He said his party was ready for negotiations with the government on general elections.
