Former interior minister and Awami League leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that neither a Rs30/L increase in the petrol prices nor Rs2,000 charity of the government in the shape of relief package can thwart the impending march of economic ruin, while reiterating that people are doing Jihad against the obsolete system created by ‘thieves’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a statement released on Saturday, Sh Rashid stated that no government measure including raising of the POL prices or Rs2,000 relief package could stave off the economic disaster.
“People are launching Jihad against the outdated system which the ‘thieves’ have developed for their own benefit,” he added.
The former interior minister said both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz cannot save their governments after purchasing members for Rs200 million each.
“This government is bound to fall, no matter it topples today or tomorrow,” he predicted.
He lamented that he felt sorry for the fate of a country whose prime minister boasted on corruption and the entire Federal Investigation Agency was at his disposal.
The ex-minister further predicted that all of the ruling coterie including prime minister would go to jail in corruption cases.
