A UAE-based Pakistani model and entrepreneur Maham Amjad's efforts paid off as Pakistan authorities have accelerated efforts for bringing her father’s murderer back to the country, the 24NewsHd TV channel reported on Saturday.

Pakistan authorities have written a letter to the UAE for the extradition of Muhammad Taqi Shah.

Maham Amjad’s pursuit of justice for the murder of her father came to an end after 14 years when the evidence she provided helped Interpol arrest the prime suspect in February, Muhammad Taqi Shah, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Her father Muhammad Ahmed Amjad was the regional chief for Sindh and Balochistan at State Life Insurance Company.

On August 26, 2008, he was shot dead in the State Life building in Karachi.

Maham Amjad has been persistently pursuing her father’s case since his assassination.

Now, Taqi Shah who is wanted by Karachi police is in the custody of UEA authorities and Pakistan has written a letter for his repatriation.

Sources said that the UEA government has accelerated steps to hand over Taqi Haider Shah to the Pakistani authorities.

The letter read out that Taqi Haider Shah accused of murder should be handed over to Pakistani authorities.  Interpol has already issued a red notice to accused Taqi Haider Shah, government sources said, adding that there is an extradition agreement between Pakistan and the UAE.
