In order to make Islamabad a model city and provide far better services to the people of the city, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday announced the establishment of five departments, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During his visit to the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) headquarters, he said that Capital Emergency Services, Capital Waste Management Company, Capital Safe City Authority, CBD Islamabad and Capital WASA would be established. “The government will provide quality services to the residents of the city and that too at a brisk pace,” he said, and expressed the optimism that soon Islamabad would be developed into a model city.”
During his visit, he gave important assignments to the CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
Naqvi also met with Rescue 1122 and the fire brigade staff and urged them to work hard and with honesty.
He announced that ambulance, fire brigade, and water rescue services would be placed under the control of the Capital Emergency Services.
The minister said that a unified emergency control room would be set up. “Live tracking of vehicles will be done through GPS,” he said, and added, “Special attention will be paid to the training of the staff.”
He also ordered setting up new stations of Rescue 1122.
Naqvi directed that the recruitment of people should be done on merit.
He also announced that the number of ambulances in Islamabad would be increased.
