Islamabad Polie conducted a raid at the residence of former premier of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas in the capital city and arrested three people on Tuesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, police sources said that former premier Tanveer Ilyas was not found at the house during the raid.
It is worth mentioning that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was released from Adiala Jail after being granted bail by the court in the case of misuse of a diplomatic passport yesterday.
A week ago on May 21, District Courts Islamabad granted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) a 3-day physical remand of former Prime Minister of AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas to recover his diplomatic passport as he did not return and also misused it after leaving the post.
FIA presented the former premier of AJK before Civil Judge Abbas Shah. In the court, the FIA prosecutor argued that former premier AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had used his diplomatic passport to travel to Saudi Arabia after leaving office, which is illegal.
The FIA prosecutor argued that despite the passport being cancelled, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had not returned it.
