Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced that May 28, Youm-e-Takbeer, will be an official holiday, commemorating the day Pakistan's defenses were made impregnable.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that Youm-e-Takbeer serves as a reminder of the Pakistani nation's unity in making the country's defense invincible.
"On this day, the entire nation resolved to uphold the integrity of Pakistan, rejecting any compromise on national defense despite external pressures," he stated.
The Prime Minister called for political and defense forces to unite under the green crescent flag, reinforcing the country's defense.
He highlighted that Youm-e-Takbeer is a day to renew the pledge to thwart the intentions of both external and internal enemies who seek to destabilize the nation through anarchy.
Sharif paid tribute to former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistan Army for their roles in strengthening the country's defense. He also honored the scientists who were pivotal in initiating and sustaining Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's nuclear program.
"We pledge that, just as we made the defense of this country impregnable on May 28, we will work tirelessly to ensure Pakistan's economic security," the Prime Minister declared. He urged the nation to unite against both external threats and internal chaos, committing to hard work and firm belief in the country's future.
Prime Minister Sharif's declaration of Youm-e-Takbeer as an official holiday underscores the significance of this day in Pakistan's history, marking the nation's determination to safeguard its sovereignty and security.
