Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab has announced to close down the OPD service of all Lahore’s teaching hospitals from tomorrow until its demand is met, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources, the deadlock between the protesting YDA office bearers demanding to arrest the responsible of a doctor killed in Gujrat some 13 days ago and the Punjab government still persists.
The decision to maintain a full-scale boycott until the acceptance of their demands was confirmed by President YDA Punjab, Dr. Shoaib Niazi.
He said that the culprits remain at large even after the lapse of 13 days of the heinous murder of Dr Zeshan Anwar in Gujrat.
Dr. Shoaib Niazi alleged that Deputy Secretary Health Tania terminated one doctor and transferred four others to Rawalpindi.
We condemned the action of the health and demanded the authority to restore them to their jobs, otherwise, the scope of the protest will be expanded to the whole of Punjab.
The transfer of Services Hospital's PGR Dr. Abdul Mannan to Rawalpindi was also met with resistance, and Dr. Niazi warned that unless the reversal of such actions occurs, the protest will persist.
