Making a fake phone call to 15 to report an incident of dacoity proved costly for a man in Karachi, as he was arrested, along with his two accomplices, by the SITE Superhighway Police on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The police said that a man named Ahmad called 15 and said that some dacoits had robbed him and his friends of Rs1495,000.
The Force said that when the cops reached the site they found three men standing on a road.
There, Ahmad told them that he and his friends were returning from Hyderabad after selling a plot when the dacoits, who had come in a High-Roof vehicle, snatched the amount from them and fled.
This made the cops suspicious that there was something fishy since Ahmad had failed to satisfy them, the police said, adding that when they grilled the suspects, they at last had to tell the truth.
Ahmad said that it was all part of a plot to get his former father-in-law nominated in a fake case since the High-Roof belonged to him.
And when his former father-in-law was called, the police learnt that his daughter had sought separation from her husband two months ago.
