Pakistan has decided to import .3m metric tons of fertilizer, and 20,000 tons of wheat to meet its food security needs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The decision was taken by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar-led Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet held in Islamabad on Friday. The meeting also gave its node for Rs.333.4m funds to the Interior Ministry for control of the law and order situation of the country.
The ECC approved the lowest bid of $520 per ton for the import of .3m tons of fertilizers.
Likewise, the ECC approved the import of 20,000 tons of wheat at $373 per ton, according to the Ministry of Finance. The lowest bid received in the tender was $373 pet mt while the second-lowest bid was $384.40 mt.
