Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi along with Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqir visited Rawalpindi Ring Road Project on Friday to review the progress on the project, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the performance of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and Commissioner Rawalpindi on the progress of the project.
On the occasion he directed that work on the project should be continued rapidly and it should be completed soon.
He directed Nespak to provide necessary project drawings at the earliest.
During his visit the Chief Minister Sindh Maqbool Baqir appreciated the ongoing projects in Punjab, especially the construction works of Rawalpindi Ring Road.
CM Sindh said the problems of Karachi can be solved through Lyari Expressway and Karachi Circular Railway projects.
However, Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi offered the full support of the Punjab government to the Chief Minister Sindh in the projects.
Punjab CM along with CMSindh also reviewed the progress of the project at Union Council Tarahia.
In order to speed up the work on the ring road project, CM directed to install additional machinery for road leveling and work should be done in three shifts.
Muhsin Naqvi said that Rawalpindi Ring Road is an important project of public interest, it should be completed before the stipulated time.
The completion of Ring Road will permanently solve the traffic problem in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, said Mohsin Naqvi.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi along with Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqir also conducted an aerial review of the project and inspected the entire 38 km long rout.
During his visit he was briefed by WFO officials and told that that Rawalpindi Ring Road is 38.3 km long and consists of six lanes and work has also started on Banth and Chuck Bailey Interchange of Ring Road with removing the structures on the right of way.
Rawalpindi Commissioner, RPO, CPO, Deputy Commissioner and FWO officials were also present on this occasion.
