OGDCL managing director Shahid Khan resigns over ‘poor performance’

Managing Director of state-owned Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited (OGDCL) Shahid Saleem Khan has resigned from his post, fearing removal over poor performance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Shahid Saleem Khan had been appointed as MD OGDCL on January 21, 2020 for a three-year term. Shahid Salim Khan was second in the list proposed on preferences by the Board of Directors for OGDCL’s chief.

Sources told 24News TV channel on Tuesday that the federal government and the OGDCL Board of Directors were not satisfied with Shahid Saleem Khan’s performance.

The sources further said that the company was losing its credibility as decisions in the OGDCL were delayed for months.

The Board had launched the process to review the performance of the OGDCL a mong ago.

After Shahid Saleem Khan’s resignation, an important meeting of the OGDCL Board has been summoned on October 1, which will approve the name for acting managing director.
