Following an increasing number of incidents of laser light being thrown on planes at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, national as well as international airlines have conveyed to the air traffic controller their concerns about the flights’ safety, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
As many as 10 such incidents have been reported so far.
Similarly, heavy lights installed at shopping centers and restaurants have also been declared dangerous for planes.
The situation is also precarious in and around Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport where pilots have reported an increase in the incidents of laser light being thrown on airplanes while landing or taking off.
As per reports, the pilots, flying national and international airplanes, have made a number of complaints about an increase in the incidents of laser light striking planes.
They have reported laser light strikes from the city’s Shah Faisal Colony, Pehlwan Goth, Sohrab Goth and other residential areas, which are near the airport.
A day earlier, flights from Karachi to Dubai and Jeddah faced laser light strikes.
