Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Shoaib Dastgir has reviewed police performance in the province on a point-based numerical formula for the first time ever, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Analyzing the statistics, Lahore police maintained negative six points and was ranked on the last position.
Quoting sources, the TV channel reported that the CCPO Lahore refused to accept the figures he had already made available for the meeting chaired by the IGP.
The IGP Punjab also examined the performance statistics of district police officers (DPOs). Resultantly, 16 DPOs were issued ‘letters of displeasure’ on the basis of poor performance.
According to details, Narowal district had the best performance with 20 plus marks. This was the first time ever the IGP reviewed the performance of all the districts through statistics.
The meeting also reviewed the statistics of various crimes including robbery, murder, theft, embezzlement and others.
Moreover among top five biggest cities of Punjab, city statistics showed Gujranwala on top with plus five points,
Faisalabad ranked second with two points, Rawalpindi third with 1 point while Multan and Lahore ranked on fourth and fifth with negative 2 and negative 6 points respectively.
