Former captain and wicketkeeper Rashid Latif Wednesday delivered an online lecture to Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan and Rohail Nazir.
Latif said the wicketkeeper is an important member of any team as a good catch or stumping by a wicketkeeper can win a match for the team.
On what was the third day of lectures by former cricketers, Latif emphasised on the importance of physical and mental fitness for wicketkeepers and termed it key for sustained performances.
He said all the three wicketkeepers Sarfaraz, Rizwan and Rohail are mentally and physically fit and have strong nerves to do the job.
He advised the wicketkeepers to watch and learn from the videos of former England wicketkeepers Alan Knott and Jack Russell.
He said that balance was very important for a wicketkeeper, adding that strength in feet and legs helps maintain balance, which he said were reasons for his and 90s rivals Moin Khan's prolonged careers.
He said to keep him afresh in the field he was used to talking to the slip fielders all the time. Latif also gave tips to the players how they can improve their batting.
Head coach Misbah-ul Haq, bowling coach Waqar Younis and Shahid Aslam were also present during the online session.
