Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has welcomed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to restore peace with Iran.
In a tweet on Wednesday, PM Imran said Iran is the neighbour and Saudi Arabia is the closest friend.
He expressed hope that the step towards peace will strengthen the Ummah.
Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told a TV channel that Riyadh wanted good relations with Tehran as the former wanted the latter to help push the Middle East towards prosperity.
Earlier, reports emerged that top Saudi and Iranian officials had held secret talks in Iraq in a bid to repair relations.
