Abducted Sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat has been recovered from North Waziristan district, sources said late Sunday.

According to sources, the security forces launched a joint operation and secured his release.

They added the judge being handed over to CTD for fulfilling legal formalities.

Reportedly, the judge was heading from Tank to DIK when unidentified people abducted him. The kidnappers made the judge step out of the vehicle and took him away with them.

They left behind his security guard and driver. Unidentified armed men set his vehicle on fire.

A video surfaced showing the judge claiming that the Taliban abducted him. In the footage, he made an appeal to the authorities concerned to fulfil the demands of his abductors.

As soon as the incident was reported, the Tank district police officer (DPO) immediately reached the crime scene along with a heavy contingent of cops and launched the search operation.

The Peshawar High Court took notice and summoned authorities concerned to secure the release of the judge at the earliest.
