Amid reports of life-saving drugs shortage, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has directed drug surveillance teams to ensure the supply of medicines and report the causes and remedies of the shortage issue within three days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On the orders of CEO Dr Asim Rauf, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has written letters to the Provincial Offices to take all possible steps for the smooth supply of medicine.
The notification further ordered the surveillance team to conduct a complete survey of the market and assess the situation.
The DRAP also directed the teams to share detailed reports of the market situation within three days.
Moreover, the DRAP also asked that the team should suggest alternative life-saving medicines to control the shortage. The DRAP claimed that for the smooth supply of life-saving medicines, a special committee had already been set up.
Dr Asim Rauf said that with the help of the survey teams, real pictures of the shortage will become clear. He said that from now on ward field teams will ensure the smooth supply of medicines in the market.
