The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh chapter Sunday announced launching a protest movement against the federal government of Imran Khan from September 5 to October 2.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, this was announced by the PPP Sindh chapter President Nisar Khuhro and Central Secretary for Information Aijaz Dhamra while addressing a press conference at the residence of Provincial Minister Jam Khan Shoro in Hyderabad city.
The PPP leader said they would start the movement for the rights of their province including a demand for the chairmanship of Irsa (Indus River System Authority) for Sindh.
Khuhro told the media that the province of Sindh was facing a serious water crisis and wanted to get water through different canals and better distribution of it through Irsa.
He also said that they were going to launch a protest movement against the closure of CJ Canal, and TP-Link Canal that was the main source of water for Sindhi farmers.
About the chairmanship of Irsa, Khuhro said they had reservations over the distribution of water among the province so they wanted the IRSA chairmanship for avoiding their crisis in future.
