Alarming situation in Indus River; Water level starts rising

The water level in the Indus River has started rising at Taunsa, Chashma, Guddu, and Sukkur due to torrential rains in various cities of Punjab, reported 24 News HD TV Channel on Monday. 

The inflow and outflow of water at Taunsa is 603,000 cusecs. The discharge level of water at Head Taunsa Barrage is ten feet while its 65 gates have been opened up to a height of 7 feet. 

According to the PDMA, water flow at Chashma is 516,200 cusecs and 500,944 cusecs at Guddu.

The PDMA has directed all the districts connected to the Indus River to be on alert and ready to deal with any emergency situation.
