The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities Monday have contacted COAS for flood relief assistance. UAE has pledged 20 aircraft sorties flood Relief equipment to assist flood victims across Pakistan, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Pakistani authorities said that the devastation is worse than in 2010 when 1,700 people were killed by floods.

Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa said Sunday that the country may take years to recover.

Pak Army is at the forefront of rescue and relief efforts and is also collecting donations in this regard.

Earlier in the day, Pak Army relief centres have moved flood relief items to various areas.

Lahore Corps collected and moved eight ton food items from Lahore to Sohbatpur, Balochistan.

Rawalipindi Corps collected and moved four tons rations from Rawalpindi to DI Khan, KP.

Gujranwala Corps collected and moved four ton rations from Sialkot to Panuaqil, Sindh.
