Caretaker govt sets to obtain powers for international agreements

The caretaker government has decided to obtain the authority to negotiate treaties with other countries, the 24NewsHd TV channel reported on Tuesday. 

According to sources, the federal cabinet its meeting convened on Tuesday gave its approval to form a cabinet committee on Inter-Government Commercial Transactions and also approved its ToRs.

The sources said the federal cabinet through a circulation of summary granted its approval.

The Cabinet Committee on Intergovernmental Commercial Transactions will be headed by the Finance Minister.

According to its ToRs, it okayed the Committee for negotiations on governmental agreements with foreign countries. A negotiating committee would be constituted

for GtG agreements.

The committee will have the authority to take necessary decisions for prompt execution of commercial transactions.

The decisions of the Cabinet Committee shall be approved by the Federal Cabinet, TORs added.

The Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions will include the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Production.

 Federal Ministers of Communications, Power and Petroleum and Law will be part of the committee members.
