All three people were rescued from a cable car that was stuck in midair over the Chitral River after one of its cables snapped on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to Rescue 1122 Spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi, the cable car was stuck at the point of Koragh over the Chitral River in Upper Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Upon being informed of it, a Rescue 1122 disaster team reached the spot and started a rescue operation.
One Rescue 1122 official reached the dangling cable car by rappelling on the snapped cable. He tied a rope to the cable car, rappelled back to the riverbank and pulled the cable car back to safety.
All the three people stranded in the cable car were rescued. They were coming to Booni from Gohkir.
According to initial reports, the cable car was stuck after one of its cables snapped. The rescue operation continued for 45 minutes.
It is to be noted here that the Pakistan Army rescued eight people, including seven children and a teacher, who were trapped in a cable car suspended 900 feet (274 metres) above a ravine in KP’s Battagram district the previous week.
