Pakistani model and social activist Mariyam Nafees has demanded equal rules and restrictions for men which women grappling with in the society.
Recently, the activist appeared as a guest on a podcast, hosted by Adnan Faisal. During the discussion, Mariyam highlighted the unfair treatment women confronting in society and acknowledged that there should be the same restrictions for all genders.
Mariyam said:” If strict rules are applied to daughters such as returning home before the dark, (Maghrib prayer) then similar restrictions should be imposed on sons. They should also be forced to come back home at the same time.”
The female star furthered: “I’m not saying that you should let girls out from home until 8 or 9 pm, as boys do, what I’m saying is that all boys should be called home early as well.”
After that, the host mentioned that Karachi would be empty if that happened.
Mariyam told the host such measures would make society safer.

The actress criticized people of her own country. According to her, Pakistanis are morally corrupt and lazy. Talking about it, she said, “The majority of this nation is corrupt, untruthful, lazy and laid back. We are corrupt, nothing happens here on merit. What happens here on foreign and local level is ridiculous, inflation, political instability, domestic issues are not the only issues here, there are more concerning and serious issues like kidnapping, harassment, assaults and killings.
She further said that she feels unsafe in Pakistan because men have created this unsafe environment for women in Pakistan.
