Karachi Police Wednesday raided the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) office to arrest its officers who had given approval to the building of Nasla Tower, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The police investigative team was present in the office of the SBCA Director Admin Mushtaq Ibrahim and so far four SBCA officers have appeared before the team.
The police personnel cordoned off entry and exit points of the SBCA building located at Civic Centre on University Road in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 14 in Karachi.
Also, Farhan Qaisar and Jameel Memon were also present in the office.
The SBCA officers told the investigation team that the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) had already taken the original file of the Nasla Tower from SBCA office.
The police investigation team has been provided all names from allotment to completion of Nasla Tower and SBCA officers expressed their willingness to cooperate and provide any information they have in the future investigation as well.
The move came a day after the chief justice of Pakistan’s order to register the FIR against the officers involved in approving the Nasla Tower.
SSP Investigation (West) Altaf Hussain led the police team who raided the SBCA building. Police mobile vans encircled the SBCA premises.
Director East Jamil Memon also reached the SBCA building.
Moreover, DIG (East) Muqaddas Haider has constituted a five-member investigative inquiry team to probe further as the FIR was registered at Ferozepur Police Station to find people behind the Nasla Tower approval.
The team will be led by SSP Investigation (West) Altaf Hussain, SP Jamshed, Farooq Bajrani, DSP Yusuf Jamal and inspector Khushnood and Inspector Nisar.
