Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani along with other judges Thursday planted saplings in the park near Fortress Stadium in Lahore.
Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Former Chief Justice High Court Mamoon Rasheed Sheikh, Justice Jawad Hasan and other judges planted more than 100 trees in the park near Fortress Stadium.
Residents and PHA staff were also present on the occasion of planting more than a hundred trees.
Former Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani while talking to the gathering said that smog and environmental pollution can be controlled to a great extent by planting trees.
Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani as the CJP has given a decision regarding the ban on cutting trees during the expansion of Lahore Canal Road in 2013.
In light of this decision, double saplings were planted on Canal Road compared to the trees cut down during road widening.
Justice Jawad Hasan has also given a decision regarding planting forests in urban areas while implementing which the former government planted millions of trees.
