The government has decided to withdraw subsidies on utility stores for common customers, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
Only Benazir Income Support Programme beneficiaries will get utility stuff at subsidized rates from these stores.
For other consumers, the government decided to increase the prices.
The price of ghee will be surged by Rs75 per kg and sugar by Rs 19 per kg and flour by Rs 24 per kg and instead of 5 kg of sugar per month, the consumers will be given 3 kg.
From January 1, the BISP beneficiaries will get 5 kg of sugar per month and the rates of ghee, sugar and flour will remain unchanged for the BISP beneficiaries
They will send the ID card to 5566 and make a purchase by showing the OTP.
