Pakistan Muslim League-Q chief organiser Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has announced that he will not contest the upcoming elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
He did not submit nomination papers from any constituency of the National and Provincial Assembly, sources confirmed.
Chaudhry Sarwar, who is currently residing in the UK, made this decision after consulting with his family and his supporters in Toba Tek Singh, his home district.
According to his spokesperson Hamza Karamat, Chaudhry Sarwar believes that this is not the time to fight elections but to save honour.
He also said that a level playing field environment is not available to all in the country, implying that the electoral process is unfair and biased.
