Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed has announced his decision to contest the upcoming election from NA-56 constituency of Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
He has filed nominations from two constituencies of the National Assembly, but said he will withdraw from NA-60 and NA-62. He said he will support his nephew Rashid Shafiq, who will contest from NA-57.
Sheikh Rasheed started his election campaign after Fajr prayer this morning and addressed a media talk. He said he is confident of winning the election with the approval of Allah.
He said he will hold another historic meeting on February 6 and urged his supporters to join him.
He also said he respects the law and order and will fight the election peacefully.
