The staff stopped working after power was disconnected to Punjab Education Complex at Hall Road in Lahore on Thursday due to non-payment of electricity bills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to report, electricity is cut off for 48 hours in the education complex and in the offices of Director Colleges, DPI Elementary, Director Community Schools and Education Authority.
Employees of the department said that office work halted in all four departments due to power outage which is causing problem for the public.
Due to non-availability of electricity, employees are forced to sit idle for hours, they added.
Sources said that more than Rs2.4 million electricity bill is owed to the education complex and funds for electricity have not been released by AG Office.
