Punjab Police allot home to martyred constable's family

Punjab police continue to allot homes to the families of brave police personnel who embraced martyrdom while performing their duties, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
A police spokesman has said that Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has allotted a house worth Rs13.5 million to the family of a martyred police constable, Shafiq Ahmed.
The spokesman has further said that the family of the deceased expressed their desire that they be allotted a home at Rafi Qamar Road in Bahawalpur.
Shafiq was martyred in an exchange of fire with dacoits in June 2024.
The cop left behind a wife, two sons and two daughters.
Dr. Usman Anwar also lauded the sacrifice rendered by police constable Shafiq Ahmad.
He said that Shafiq embraced martyrdom while on duty.
He said that so far 1,650 Punjab Police personnel had embraced martyrdom during duty.
