A girl who facilitated abduction of a youth for ransom has repented swiftly as she approached a court in Lahore on Thursday to record her statement as an approver in the case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Mahnoor Baloch stated in the court that she was used by her friend Matiullah for his plan to abduct the young man.
“My friend Matiullah had asked me to honey-trap Muhammad Azam and lure him to meet me at a given place from where he was taken away,” she recalled.
The prosecution lawyer told the court that the girl called Azam for a meeting at Nawaz Sharif Park in Lahore’s Model Town and Matiullah and his accomplices kidnapped him from outside the park.
The accused then demanded a ransom of Rs6 million from Azam, the prosecution said, adding the kidnappers took Azam to Lakki Marwat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Azam was kept in basement of a building for three days, but he managed to escape from there, the prosecution said.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Arshad Javed conducted the hearing of the case.
The court summoned Azam to record his statement at the next hearing which will be on March 6.
