In a groundbreaking accomplishment for Pakistani cinema, the film 'Jamun Ka Darakht' has triumphed at the renowned Cannes World Film Festival.


Everyone is proud of the entire cast and crew, who have secured a historic win for Pakistan as the best social justice short film.


Celebrating the triumph, director Rafay Rashdi shared the news of the film's victory on Instagram, expressing congratulations to everyone who did their best to make this film.


Rafay penned:


"We won. Best Social Justice Short Film. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew."



The title, 'Jamun Ka Darakht', serves as a metaphor for stains that can never be eradicated, hinting at the intricate exploration of human behavior and societal challenges.


 The movie delves into the complex themes of consensual relationships, harassment, and manipulation, promising a thought-provoking narrative that challenges traditional storytelling. The trailer, although it keeps character details a secret, hints at a narrative filled with tension and emotion.


It's propelled by Bee Gul's impactful dialogues, the performances of esteemed actor Adnan Siddiqui, and a stellar ensemble cast, featuring supermodels Maha Tahirani and Fouzia Aman, alongside actors Saman Ansari, Syeda Ramsha Nawal, Ahad Touqeer, Zara Usman, Yogeshwar Karera, and Irfan Motiwala.
