The Lahore High Court on Wednesday rejected a contempt of court petition filed by an PTI-backed candidate Salman Akram Raja against the NA-128 returning officer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
LHC’s Justice Ali Baqir Najfi announced the judgment which was reserved earlier.
In his petition, Salman Akram Raja had alleged that RO Kamran Afzal was involved in rigging in NA-128 during general elections 2024.
It is pertinent to mention here that according to ECP results, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) candidate Awn Chaudhry with the support of PML-N secured victory in NA-128 Lahore with 172,576 votes, against PTI backed independent candidate Salman Akram Raja who obtained 159,024 votes.
