As many as 30 female students at a local seminary in Dhoke Mustaqeem in Rawalpindi were rushed to hospital after they fell sick following eating toxic food, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Rescue personnel said 19 students were admitted to District Headquarters Hospital while 11 students were shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where their condition was reported to be stable.
The students who wanted to break their fast fell ill after eating snacks (samosas and pakoras) from a nearby shop and fell ill.
The rescue officials received a call from the area about the sickness of female students at the local madrassah and after getting initial information, it was found that girls bought samosas and pakoras from nearby bazaar and fell ill after consuming them.
The local police started a probe after getting the samples of food for laboratory test.
