As part of extensive renovations ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is being transformed into a world-class cricketing venue, featuring a massive iron statue, state-of-the-art facilities, and an advanced lighting system, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The highlight of the renovation project is a 25-foot-high ‘running man’ statue, made from two tonnes of iron, being erected at the entrance of the stadium near the Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

The Punjab Government has specially commissioned the artwork, which will be illuminated with vibrant lights to enhance the fan experience.

The ongoing renovation, which is now in its final stages, includes:

1) A new road linking the main building to the stadium for smoother access.
2) Two state-of-the-art giant screens were being installed for an improved viewing experience.
3) A spectacular light show is planned to entertain fans, with LED floodlights on all six towers already being tested.
4) Waste removal from the renovation process is expected to be completed in the next few days.

Gaddafi Stadium’s Role in Champions Trophy 2025
Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is set to host at least four key matches in the Champions Trophy 2025, including the second semi-final on March 5.

The venue may also host the final on March 9, but only if India does not qualify for the title clash.
