A rare blunder committed by the Supreme Court staff on Monday led to the indefinite adjournment of hearing of the case pertaining to murder of journalist Arshad Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

When the case was brought before three-judge apex court bench led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and consisting of Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, the presiding judge remarked that a five-member bench was hearing the suo motu notice regarding the Arshad Sharif’s murder before.

“The case was mistakenly brought before a three-member bench,” Justice Mansoor remarked, adding “The matter is very important, the bench will be reconstituted as the case if being referred to the three-member judges committee.”

Justice Mansoor further observed that Justice Jamal Mandokhel and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar were part of the earlier five-member bench and the case will be fixed for hearing once these two judges are available.

Justice Mansoor then adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.
