The government and opposition joined their hands in condemning the Monday’s terrorist attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi and condoled with the families of martyrs.
Prime Minister Imran Khan praised the security forces for thwarting the terrorists and said the whole nation was proud of them. He also expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives in the incident and condoled with the martyrs’ families.
Similarly, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said a swift and timely action by law enforcement agencies saved nation from a bigger tragedy. However, he added, “The attack, however, must alert us.”
On the other hand, Maryam Nawaz saluted “the brave sons of soil” but noted, “The fact that an attack of such magnitude was planned and executed is extremely unsettling.”
Meanwhile, former president Asif Ali Zardari called for exposing the terrorists’ facilitators and those planning the attack at every cost.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the policemen and security guards foiled the attack through sheer bravery, adding that the terrorists could never defeat the courage of the people.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said the enemies would never succeed in their anti-Pakistan designs, as he asked the Sindh government and security institutions to bring the facts before public after a thorough probe.
Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry stressed the need for investigating the matter from every angle and said foreign hand was behind the terrorist attack.
In a statement, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal said the terrorist attack was attempt to sabotage peace and economic activities in Pakistan.
